Winning Poets in our midst
Congratulations to Hannah Jones and Georgia Virtue (both S1) on their winning entries in the Young Writer's 'Poetopia' competition. Both girls submitted fantastic poems and were recognised for their excellence and skill. The girls are now published poets and will appear in the 'Poetopia' book of poetry, alongside other winning entries from across the UK.
Both Hannah and Georgia are avid creative writers and feel that this latest success has spurred them on to enter many more competitions in the future. We're confident that their creativity will continue to be recognised for its brilliance and we look forward to reading it!

WINNING WRITER!
Congratulations to Georgia Virtue from Miss Coleman’s English class on her winning entry in the Young Writers’ Creative Writing Competition – Mini Monologues. Georgia was inspired by the school’s creative writing club, which takes place every Wednesday lunchtime with Ms McDougal. She says, ‘I couldn’t have written it with their encouragement – Thank You!’ Georgia chose Harry Potter as her character and her monologue is printed for you to enjoy: ‘Inside Harry Potter’s Head’. It will also be part of a collection to be published in April ‘Mini Monologues - Authors from Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales’. Georgia told us, ‘I am really pleased I entered this competition and I really enjoyed writing the monologue. It has inspired me to write more.’ |
